Luxurious and glamorous living at Riverstone London. A stone’s throw from the fashionable Kings Road Chelsea and a short walk from the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, Honky designed this new apartment exclusively for over 65s. The apartment set the precedent for interiors curated especially for later living market.
Honky’s brief was to design and furnish the apartment as a Riverstone Experience Suite where Clients would stay the weekend to fully appreciate the development and its exceptional facilities.
Key was to create a feeling of home from home, allowing the Clients to envisage transferring their lives to these contemporary riverfront apartments.
The design aesthetic was to emulate the many travels of the client to coastal boutique hotels around the world. Drawing on the natural hues and blues of the Aegean Sea with glimpses of ethnic fabrics and weaves from northern Africa. The neutral colour palate was the foundation on which Honky built the layers of the client’s life with other elements such as the eclectic artifacts and original artwork on the gallery wall.
Handmade textured wallpaper created a tactile backdrop to the reception space and contemporary lighting and design classics elevated the space. Wickers, woods and woven finishes in soft cinnamon and warm tobaccos were used throughout the interior design scheme creating a restful and cocooning space. Each room was an eclectic mix of traditional fabrics and individually sourced pieces.
This successful collation of old and new side by side with original and reproduction pieces created a truly original and authentic space.
